Come and support the 1st Sandringham Great Scout Fete - loads of fun for everyone! See pictures of the fun HERE
Hi everyone,
Hope everyone has had a really great break and are looking forward to an exciting term of Scouts. In fact the PLs and APLs had a great meeting on Thursday last week planning the program from not only term 1 but term 2 as well! The most exciting part, it that the program is available to view on our awesome new website! Go to www.1stsandringhamscouts.asn.au Click on the calendar and you’ll see our program up there. You can also subscribe/import the calendar into your desktop or mobile devices. To do so , you need the following two ICAL locators which are also on the website. The first locater is for just Scout events. The second one is for "Whole Group Events": https://www.google.com/calendar/ical/nkne9ljhdn2qrqspfpbtv7loik%40group.calendar.google.com/public/basic.ics https://www.google.com/calendar/ical/1stsandringhamscoutgroup%40gmail.com/public/basic.ics By clicking on the links, you should be able to import the calendars. However, we suggest you subscribe to them instead. That way whenever we update the google calendar, the calendar on your desktop/mobile devices automatically updates. To subscribe to the scout calendar using a Apple Mac, simply go into the calendar menu and click on subscribe. Then paste the Scout calendar URL above into the blank box and follow the prompts. Then repeat for the Whole Group Event calendar. Windows works a similar way. We have some wonderful things planned for the next 6 months and we want you to especially put in your diaries the 2 camps we have coming up. One on the ANZAC long weekend and then a 4 day camp in the term 2 holidays. Soon we will be asking for expressions of interest to attend these camps and we strongly encourage all Scouts to come along. The true memories from their time in Scouts are created not on Monday nights, but on trips away. Keep an eye on the website too for photos of different events as well as news of things you need to know. Early in the term we will be welcoming 10 new Scouts who will be coming up from Cubs – 10!!! Brace yourselves Scouts! This year we are going to try and send fewer emails and instead put all the info on the website so please start to familiarise yourself with the site and add it to your favourites. You will also notice that on the events page and the news page there is button the right hand side of the screen titled "RSS Feed". If you click on this and follow the prompts, you can feed all news items and event items into your email. So whenever the website is updated with an event or news item, you get the update by way of email as well. Looking forward to seeing everyone’s happy faces on Monday! |
